McDermid Controls install Schneider BMS at Hampton by Hilton, Hamilton Park
Opening its doors in August 2019, Hampton by Hilton, Hamilton Park marks the first hotel to be located at the 90-year old, renowned Hamilton Park racecourse. The 118-room hotel will create 20 new local jobs and is estimated to generate 5.9m revenue per year. Driven by public demand, the hotel will not only cater for race-days but for various other events throughout the year from weddings to board meetings.
As with previous Hilton projects, the client was keen to reduce their energy usage and costs via a Schneider Electric BMS. With 4 other Hampton by Hilton projects under our belt along with numerous other hotels, McDermid Controls were best placed to deliver a skillful installation of the controls for the hotel DHW and ventilation systems.
On this project McDermid Controls installed 3 control panels providing the controls for the hotel’s DHW and ventilation. The entire system is controlled with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure platform.
The main challenge on this project was the full integration of the various building systems to the main BMS which we successfully managed to complete including:
Integrating CIAT Air Handling Units with integral CAREL controls via MODBUS communications.
Network module MB Gateway was used to connect Helios-SALDA air handling units via BACNET IP
Integration of the electric meters supplied by Rayleigh via a MODBUS link
McDermid Controls also installed a PC complete with BMS dashboards allowing ease of monitoring by the maintenance manager and giving them total visibility and the ability to respond quickly to any issues.
